Opening of the Korean Entertainment Hall of Fame
Experience the Korean Wave
with the Korea National Tourism Organization
The Korea National Tourism Organization (KNTO) is responding to the overwhelming popularity of Korean entertainment and entertainers overseas by opening the 'Korean Entertainment Hall of Fame' in its headquarters in Seoul. The hall of fame will be in the Tourist Information Center, located in basement level one, for easy access to fans and all tourists. The opening of this hall of fame will be celebrated with a gathering of the heads of Korean celebrity online fan clubs from around the world. The KNTO plans to keep the 'Korean Entertainment Hall of Fame' open for approximately one year.
*The Korean Wave is a phenomenon sweeping through Southeast Asia and China. Intensified by the sudden surge in Korea's national image brought on by the 2002 FIFA World Cup, the Korean Wave started with the rising popularity of Korean pop stars such as Ahn Jae-wook. More recently, it extended to a boom in Korean-made TV dramas such as Winter Sonata and Autumn in My Heart, and movies such as JSA, Swiri, My Sassy Girl, and Guns and Talk.

A Unique space has been created to cater to different aspects of Korean entertainment.

* Celebrity: Pictures (including life-size), hand prints, autographs and more of
24 of the hottest celebrities in Korea.
* Telecast: See music videos, movies and more
* Music: Listen to music from the soundtracks of movies and TV dramas/miniseries.

★ [Event 2] Appointment of 42 Honorary Ambassadors for Korean Culture and Tourism
Seven countries (Japan, China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Thailand, Mexico), all with fan clubs dedicated to Korean stars (Bae Yong-joon, Ahn Jae-woo, Lee Byung-hun, Choi Ji-woo, Jang Dong-gu, Wonbin) will gather to celebrate the appointment of 42 honorary ambassadors for Korean culture and tourism. All 42 appointees head successful fan clubs. After they are appointed, the honorary ambassadors will tour the Korean Entertainment Hall of Fame as well as view the Korean Wave Souvenir Exhibit.
Place: Auditorium in Basement Level one of the Korea National Tourism Organization

The KNTO building is located near the corner of Cheonggyecheonno and Namdaemunno, across from the Youngpoong Bookstore and Cho Hung Bank.
