I picked this up from koreanwind.net: http://www.koreanwind.net/bbs/viewthread.php?tid=14437. A Chinese reader pasted an article from sports.chosun.com reporting that a Japanese magazine is saying that Korean actresses have gone for cosmetic surgery to improve their looks, including Jiwoo. The link to the Korean article is http://sports.chosun.com/news/entertainment/200405/20040528/45801004.htm.
Will fans who can read Korean explain to the rest of us here what this is about??

The photo in the Japanese magazine doesn't match any of her earlier drama capture photos I could find on the Net. So I think it's really dubious. After looking at her childhood photos, I see the same overall cheek/jaw lines. But Jiwoo does look so much more attractive in the last 2 years, due to make-up, lighting or whatever.
Casper, does Maggie even have an image consultant since she has evolved into such a self-confident star dripping with charisma no matter what she wears? He he...
About hair style, I think big hair-dos don't flatter Jiwoo (e.g., publicity shots for "Everyone Has a Secret"), nor the overly glam look (Instyle shoot, 2003). She looks best with the classic couture look (like for Andre Kim's 2004 Shanghai show), or like in STH. Of course her short style in WLS gave her a different air as well.
What do you think?

To me, Jiwoo looks just as great with any hairstye.. even any fashion. She is a perfect model!
Plastic or no plastic, Jiwoo is still my same Jiwoo (anyway for sure she didnt, as she appears no different from her childhood photos) as long as she remains as she is now.....
Agree with you freshdough, Jiwoo was really classic at the AK FS in Shanghai!! Really a charming lady! Chrs,

What a ridiculars news! From beiginning till now, Jiwoo is known to me as a natural, lovely, gentle and kind hearted person. She is always the same sweet looking lady as what she appears! She only had more baby fats on her face last time as compared to now! To me Jiwoo is still Jiwoo, one and only one! No matter how, will support her till the end! Cheers!:):):)

I think JW's Agency should take on this magazine and sue them, as she had done some dramas prior 1998, if I were not mistaken she back in 1994/1995. she did not look anything like that at all. Having minimal surgery done is quite a common occurance anyway, but we do have stars that did complete overhaul that they look like 2 different individuals, and that is another matter.
As to the fact that she looks better today is due much to her confidence in having found her own identity; her ability to dress with such aplomb that her beauty radiates and lights up. Her personal success in her in life; being adored by her fans around the world; being regarded by her peers as one of the best actress around. Most woman would agree with me that when we reach the high twenties in age we are no longer the young gawgy being that we once were. but a more self-assured person and CJ has got much more that any of us can ever dream of.
As I mentioned earlier - her agency should take this matter very seriously and pursue the matter further, get the best barristers around. They do it in Hollywood and the media around would not dare to be so fallacious in there claim.

Casper, I dont think we use dough in baking cakes...
Anyway, back to Maggie Cheung. I think her supreme asset is her self-assurance. She could wear tanktop, jeans, near-zero make-up to a Cannes photo-shoot and still look like a star!
Maybe the Korean fans have to tell us, have they ever encountered JW in tee and jeans on the streets of Seoul and still feel her star power??

This magazine is an inferior weekly magazine.
This report is an absurd report.
I think that it is very shameful as a Japanese.
Our princess is a natural beauty.
