About a strange Chinese drama

There is a Chinese drama called <the Opposite Door> will be broadcasting here. I am so surrised that the content of it is very very similar to <Winter Sonata>. I am more surprised that this drama was played in 2001. It means that it is earlier than <Winter Sonata>. I don't know what is wrong.

i find it strange too, but as winter sonata is so popular in china, the author of 'the opposite door' couldn't overlook it if it is winter sonata infringing the copyright? can it be the chance that the author sold the story to both of them? it is legally possible.
