Voluntary Work on 8 June 2009
Today the participants were gathered at the Sadang Subway Station at 1 pm.
This time we went to A Nursery which has already been established for 50 years. They will have their 50 years Anniversary on October 2009
70% of the Administration Fees were supported by the Korean Government and the remaining funds were sponsored by volunteers. The kids who stay in the Nursery are either orphans or from poor single parent’s family. There is now taking care of 77 kids. There are computer room, music room, study room, games room and kitchen in the buildings. Around 17 full-time staff and the Director, Mr. Pak has been working in the social field for over 40 years. According to Mr. Pak, Jiwoo visited this Nursery last year and our Starjiwoo members will work as volunteers twice a month since last year.
This time the volunteers included fans from Korea, Japan, Taiwan and Hong Kong.
We were divided into groups and working under the guidance of their staff.
The Taiwan fans and I were appointed to clean the library and we worked there for about one hour. Some Japanese fans were assigned to clean the computer and music rooms.
We joined the cooking team after completion of our cleaning work. I found the Korean pancakes are really oily since I kept on being requested to add more oil throughout the cooking. I am sorry that I have to leave the team on 3.30 pm since I have to leave Korea in the evening.
I joined the volunteers work since 2003 and I participated only once every year. Our Princess Jiwoo will join the voluntary work every year too. Taking this opportunity, I would like to show my gratitude to the Starjiwoo members who has been working as volunteers for the past ten years. I am sure that Jiwoo is proud of having such a group of kind-hearted fans.

So, this is the building where Ji Woo went last year. I remember the little girl with glasses & Ji Woo was fixing her clothes & feeding her. She's such a sweet lady doing all that she can for the sake of the children as well as the senior citizens. I admire her & all the volunteers of Starjiwoo. God bless you all & keep up the good work.
